5 Ways How Sound Can Improve Your Sight

Sound healing with metal bowl

Sounds have a profound effect on our bodies, minds, and even our vision. From ancient chanting to modern sound baths, healing frequencies have been used for centuries to promote relaxation and restore balance. But did you know that sound can also improve your vision?

Healing music artist and intuitive channel, Eluv shared insights on how sound frequencies can help our vision improvement process by activating of the relaxation response via the vagus nerve. And we went a lot deeper: How to clear ancestral trauma that may be affecting vision. Let’s dive into it.

The Science Behind Sound Healing

Eluv began her journey in sound healing using her own voice, experimenting with tones to balance energy and promote deep relaxation. Over time, she discovered that certain frequencies had powerful effects on the nervous system and even cellular repair.

One of the most exciting aspects of her work is the scientific backing. Acoustic physics researcher John Stuart Reid studied Eluv’s music with a cymatics device and found that it produces heterodyne frequencies as low as 5 Hz and up to 30 Hz ideal for ventral vagus nerve activation.

Heterodyne frequencies are created when two sound waves combine, forming a new frequency that influences physiological processes. These frequencies interact with the body’s electromagnetic field, influence brainwave activity, and support the autonomic nervous system.

How Frequencies Affect Vision

Vision health not about eye exercises (if anything, do “relaxercises”) and clean nutrition—sound plays a role too. The vagus nerve connects the brain to vital organs, including those responsible for eye function and circulation. When the body is in a relaxed state, oxygen flow to the eyes and lymph drainage from the head improves, supporting clarity and overall eye health.

The Extremely Low Frequencies (ELFs), which range from 3 Hz to 30 Hz, produced by her music have a profound impact on health. These ELF frequencies:

  • Interact with the body’s electromagnetic field
  • Regulate brainwave activity
  • Improve blood circulation, benefiting eye health
  • Reduce stress and inflammation
  • Support nervous system regulation

German ophthalmologist Dr. Ilse Strempel found that binaural beats combined with a deep yoga nidra style meditation helped reduce intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients. This suggests that sound can be a powerful tool for natural vision improvement.

A 2018 study* with 90 open-angle glaucoma patients found that mindfulness mediation also significantly lowered IOP, normalizes stress biomarkers, and even positively changes gene expression, making it a clear recommendation for eye health and eye disease prevention.

The Connection Between Sound, Emotions, and Vision

Many vision problems aren’t just physical—they can be tied to emotional and ancestral trauma. Eluv explained that unresolved emotions, such as fear, grief, or resistance to seeing the truth, can manifest as vision issues.

For example, if someone has a subconscious fear of seeing reality, their eyesight might deteriorate as a defense mechanism. Similarly, ancestral trauma—events that affected previous generations—can be passed down genetically and energetically, impacting vision.

Through sound healing and guided meditation, it’s possible to:

  • Clear emotional blocks related to eyesight
  • Heal ancestral trauma affecting vision
  • Promote deep relaxation and restore natural visual function

Practical Ways to Use Sound for Vision and Relaxation

Here are some easy ways to get started with sound healing. Remember that the sound itself does the work. You don’t have to actively think about healing. Your body naturally absorbs the frequencies it needs, promoting holistic well-being.

1. Listen to a Sound Bath

  • Find recorded sound baths online or attend a live session
  • Experiment with crystal bowls, tuning forks, or chimes at home

2. Try Binaural Beats for Vision Support

  • Use headphones for best results—binaural beats work by playing two slightly different frequencies in each ear, ideal are 5-30Hz beats
  • Look for tracks specifically designed for nervous system regulation and relaxation

3. Utilize the Vagus Nerve

  • Practice deep breathing while listening to calming frequencies
  • Try humming or chanting—this naturally engages the vagus nerve

4. Use Sound for Eye Relaxation

5. Release Emotional and Ancestral Blocks

  • Reflect on any resistance to “seeing” certain truths in your life
  • Consider working with a sound healer to clear deeper emotional ties to vision issues
