Quantum Hydration To See Clearly

Dr. Valerie Giangrande, a holistic eye doctor, shares her expertise on why staying hydrated at a cellular level is essential for maintaining and improving your eyesight. For example, dry eyes are often a sign of deep dehydration at the cellular level. Conditions like glaucoma and even the formation of cataracts can be exacerbated by poor hydration. Ensuring your body is hydrated at a molecular level can support the fluids within your eyes, such as the vitreous humor, which plays an important role in maintaining your vision.

Hydration is more than drinking 8 glasses of water

You might think hydration is simply about drinking enough water each day. However, Dr. Giangrande explained that true hydration goes much deeper. It’s not just the water you drink but the water your body creates internally that really matters. This internal water, structured within our cells, is crucial for maintaining the cellular functions related to vision.

The mitochondria, often referred to as the powerhouses of our cells, play a key role here. When functioning optimally, they not only produce energy (ATP) but also generate water. This isn’t ordinary H2O; it’s a highly structured form known as exclusion zone (EZ) water, or H3O2. This structured water is vital for cellular hydration, and by extension, eye health.

The role of light in hydration and eye health

Sunlight isn’t just important for your vitamin D levels; it’s also vital for cellular level hydration. Dr. Giangrande explains that exposure to full-spectrum sunlight helps your mitochondria produce this structured water, which then supports your vision.

The sun’s red and infrared light, always present in natural sunlight, specifically powers up the mitochondria, aiding them in creating this internal structured water. This is particularly relevant to eye health because your eyes rely on well-hydrated cells to function properly. When your body is hydrated at this deeper level, your eyes are better protected against future eye issues.

Practical tips for improving cellular hydration

To boost your cellular hydration and, by extension, your eye health, Dr. Giangrande recommends the following:

  1. Get regular sunlight exposure: Make it a habit to spend time outdoors, allowing your skin and eyes to absorb full-spectrum sunlight. This doesn’t mean staring directly at the sun, but rather getting outside during the early morning or late afternoon when the sunlight is less intense.
  2. Grounding: Walking barefoot on natural surfaces like soil, grass or sand can help your body absorb electrons from the Earth, which supports the creation of exclusion zone water in your cells.
  3. Drink clean, structured water: While hydration isn’t just about drinking water, the quality of the water you drink still matters. Opt for mineral-rich spring water, or if you use filtered water, add a pinch of high-quality sea salt to help structure it.
  4. Avoid dehydrating factors: Limit your exposure to blue light from screens, as it can dehydrate your mitochondria. Also, reduce your intake of processed foods and drinks that may contain harmful substances like fluoride and glyphosate which can disrupt the body’s ability to create structured water.

Incorporate hydrating foods: Foods like chia seeds, aloe vera, and even lemon or cucumber-infused water can help your body stay hydrated on a molecular level. These foods provide more structure to the water within them, aiding in overall cellular hydration.

Dr. Valerie Giangrande is an optometrist with over two decades of private practice experience in New York. Her journey into holistic health began in 2012 when her son started experiencing health issues. Dissatisfied with conventional medicine, she pursued holistic approaches and became a certified Integrative Holistic Nutrition Health Coach in 2016.

Dr. Valerie’s quest for answers to her own health problems led her to Quantum Biology and the teachings of Dr. Jack Kruse in 2018. Recognizing the fundamental importance of these principles to overall and eye health, she has incorporated them into her practice and personal life. Recently, she became a certified Applied Quantum Biology Practitioner, helping individuals with Quantum and Circadian Rhythm strategies for better ocular health and overall wellness.
